Recursively chmod Directories Only

Recursively chmod directories only or files only.

The command to chmod all sub directories under you current directory is:

view plain print about
1find . -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;

The command to chmod all files in your current directory and all sub directories is:

view plain print about
1find . -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;

The only difference between the two is the type flag. d for directory and f for file.
